The original idea for Star Wars was conceived in the early 1970's and went through many revisions. The original Star Wars movie (Episode IV: A New Hope) was first released in 1977. The sixth Star Wars film (Episode III: Revenge of the Sith) was released in 2005. There were originally to be nine films in three trilogies however George Lucas has stated that he does not intend to make any more Star Wars films.

The first three released movies are about the a galactic civil war, in which the Rebel Alliance battles the Galactic Empire in an epic struggle between good and evil. Young farmboy Luke Skywalker, training to become one of the mystical warriors known as the Jedi, may be the only person who can stand against the Dark Lords. Our Star Wars books and annuals are very collectable and more are added all the time.
